Winners gather to celebrate 15 year anniversary of lottery

The 15th anniversary of the National Lottery has been a very exciting time. There have been numerous celebrations and lottery winners of past and present have got together to honour their favourite game of chance.
Mark Page was one such winner. He scooped £4.7m in 2007 and he has recently gathered with fellow millionaires to celebrate the 15th milestone.
Since the UK lottery began, 436 jackpot prizes have been awarded and the winnings have been spent on everything you could possibly imagine.
But Mark Page chose to spend some of his winnings on a very special cause. He paid £20,000 for an operation to help his partner Carol Moreton who needed two new hips.
Mark paid for the operation after the NHS had told Carol that she was too young to receive the treatment and that she would have to wait until she was in her 60s.
Some of Scotland’s biggest winners, including Mark, gathered at Hampden Stadium in Glasgow to toast their winnings with champagne and share their stories on how the National Lottery had changed their lives. The gathering included Lisa Dougan, who was Scotland’s youngest winner, being just 17 when she scooped £1.5m.
